Port of Cherbourg

The port is located in the north of France, in Lower-Normandy, on the Channel coast (Latitude 49°38, longitude 1°37).

The port of Cherbourg is composed of 1.760 metres of quay with a military area.  The access to the port of Cherbourg is possible at any time 7 days a week for ships up to 12 m draft, without any lock to the quays. It is a very fast access.

The port of Cherbourg is a decentralized port partly managed by a private society, SAS Port de Cherbourg (50 % of shares for the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Cherbourg Cotentin and 50 % for Louis Dreyfus Armateurs). It is also maritime public domain.

The port is home to 6 types of activities: commerce, military, transport, fisheries, boating and cruise.
